For example, I considered an apartment in Ealing near Imperial’s undergraduate accommodations, in a modern building, near amenities like Sainsbury’s, and adjacent to a train station. However, the commute would have been longer and pricier without a student travel card, leading me to pass on it.
I also looked into options like Wood Lane Studios on Imperial’s White City Campus, adjacent to Westfield shopping center, but ultimately selected Chapter Portobello for its blend of convenience and accessibility. I’m near grocery outlets and can avail of a free shuttle bus service to Imperial campuses. However, while the location is advantageous for commuting to campus, reaching central London requires a 15-minute walk to the nearest Underground station, which can be less comfortable, particularly when alone in the evenings. Still, being in proximity to Portobello Market brings a lively social element to the area, presenting both benefits and drawbacks.
