I dedicated considerable time to my personal statement, contemplating my career trajectory, motivations for choosing Imperial, and how my previous experiences relate to my future aspirations.
Documenting everything I engaged in during my undergraduate program, such as modules, projects, societies, and volunteer activities, was beneficial. I reflected on my work in data visualization, my interest in media and AI, and leadership roles within student societies. These experiences shaped my understanding of analytics. I connected these experiences directly to each prompt instead of making broad assertions. For instance, rather than declaring, ‘I am passionate about data,’ I concentrated on specific projects and experiences and elaborated on their impact on my interests and ambitions.
Being expressive and genuine is essential, but refrain from being excessively detailed. Generic or overly refined responses contribute little value, especially with numerous AI-generated submissions sounding alike. I noted my experiences, insights, and missteps, drafted, and revised my statement incorporating fresh thoughts. Gradually, my responses became more authentic.
