Furthermore, the professional environment feels markedly different, offering new approaches to working, communicating, and viewing creativity in contrast to what you might be used to back home.<\/p>\n

Part-time employment connected these realms for me, aiding in financial management and gaining insights into the UK market, particularly regarding marketing and customer experience. My initial and favorite position was as a MORA Content Creator within Imperial’s central marketing team. Being compensated to generate content for a prestigious university was surreal and significantly enriched my year.<\/p>\n

Becoming a MORA Content Creator<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Collaborating with the MORA team, producing content that reached over 700,000 people across Imperial\u2019s social media platforms, was a dream come true. It entailed engaging in storytelling and portraying the student experience, mastering institutional communication, and grasping the tone and authenticity that strikes a chord with varied audiences.<\/p>\n

This position granted extraordinary opportunities, like interviewing public figures including Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty. These experiences originated from my willingness to accept a small opportunity. The MORA team is encouraging, supportive, and promotes creative exploration. If you have a passion for storytelling and wish to participate in captivating content projects, this is one of the finest part-time positions at Imperial.<\/p>\n

Juggling work and academic commitments demands careful planning. I organized my shifts during weeks with lighter class loads. Your degree should remain the top priority, but a thoughtfully selected part-time job has the potential to enhance your studies. My marketing assignments felt significantly more relevant when connected to real-world roles.<\/p>\n

Experiencing a variety of part-time jobs<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Throughout my Master\u2019s program, I explored different roles such as waiter, event coordinator, barista, and bartender. Each job imparted distinct lessons. Work in hospitality provided genuine customer service training, patience, teamwork, and the ability to maintain composure under stress. These skills have endured well beyond the caf\u00e9 environment.<\/p>\n

From a financial standpoint, part-time jobs were essential. I managed to cover rent, travel, and daily expenses, and even managed to save a little. As an international student, I was allowed to work up to 20 hours a week during term time and full-time during breaks, balancing earnings and relaxation. It\u2019s crucial to follow visa stipulations, as exceeding work hours can impact visa status. Imperial offers clear guidance, and it\u2019s advisable to verify conditions before accepting employment.<\/p>\n
