Upon arriving in London for the very first time, I was amazed by its enormity. The city felt noisy, fast-moving, and somewhat intimidating. With only a suitcase and Google Maps, I found myself feeling disoriented. If you’re about to embark on this journey, there’s no need to panic. Here\u2019s how to establish yourself in London before beginning your studies at Imperial, ensuring you can savor your new urban life.<\/p>\n

Whether you’re landing early or just before the semester starts, here is the guidance I wish I had received.<\/p>\n

Steer clear of costly hotel stays by arranging your lodging in advance. I was lucky, but many are not. The most desirable locations fill up fast, so try to find a place close to campus or a dependable Tube line to minimize lengthy travel times.<\/p>\n

    At first, I walked nine kilometers across London due to missteps with public transport. Avoid my error. Acquire a Student Oyster card and apply for the 18+ discount for reduced travel costs. Walking is still excellent for uncovering hidden treasures.<\/p>\n

    London can be quite intense, so seek out a place of comfort. My sanctuary is a local park and the O2 for films. Find your own havens, like a caf\u00e9 or bookstore, to unwind and refresh.<\/p>\n
