If you\u2019re about to embark on this journey, don\u2019t fret. Here\u2019s how to acclimatize to London before your time at Imperial begins, so you can savor the city.<\/p>\n

Whether you touch down early or just before classes commence, here\u2019s the guidance I wish I had received.<\/p>\n

Steer clear of pricey hotels by securing housing in advance. I was lucky, but not everyone has that privilege. Opt for a location close to campus or a dependable Tube line to minimize lengthy commutes.<\/p>\n

Life Administration: Necessities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Handle these necessities swiftly:<\/p>\n

  • Money transfers \u2013 Use services such as Wise or Revolut for economical international transactions.<\/li>\n
  • UK SIM card \u2013 Obtain one right away for data and navigation.<\/li>\n

    Even if you\u2019re reserved, join in. I made close friends during campus tours and society stalls. This week lays the groundwork for your university experience.<\/p>\n

    At first, I struggled with the Tube or buses and ended up walking nine kilometers. Acquire a Student Oyster card and request the 18+ discount for cheaper transportation.<\/p>\n

    Walking is still a great way to uncover hidden treasures.<\/p>\n

    Identify Your Relaxation Spots<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    London can be intense. Locate a favorite place like a park, cafe, or bookstore to unwind and recharge.<\/p>\n

    Explore your neighborhood, including supermarkets, pharmacies, parks, and cafes.<\/p>\n

    Check out landmarks, museums, and take a ride on a double-decker bus. Some of your most cherished memories will stem from your explorations.<\/p>\n
