For me, part-time employment served as a link between these two realms, aiding in financial management and offering insights into the UK market, particularly in marketing and customer experience. My initial and most cherished position was as a MORA Content Creator on Imperial’s central marketing team. It felt surreal to be compensated for creating content for a prestigious university, and the experience significantly enriched my year.
**Becoming a MORA Content Creator**
Assisting the team and generating content for over 700,000 individuals across Imperial’s social media platforms was a dream come true. It entailed storytelling and conveying the student experience, grasping institutional communication, and recognizing the tone and authenticity that resonate with varied audiences.
This position presented unexpected opportunities, such as interviewing notable figures like Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty. None of this would have been possible without accepting that first opportunity. The MORA team is friendly, supportive, and allows creative experimentation. Keep in mind, most part-time employers value reliability, initiative, and friendliness, not solely experience.
**Balancing work and study**
Juggling work and classes demands organization. I scheduled shifts only when my class timetable was less demanding. Your degree must come first, but a well-chosen part-time job can enhance your studies. My marketing coursework gained significance when applied to actual job scenarios.

During my Master’s program, I experimented with various positions such as waiter, event manager, barista, and bartender. Each job imparted something distinctive.
