Upon your arrival in London as an international student, the first thing that strikes you is how rapidly expenses add up, from rent and groceries to transportation and tuition fees. For me, part-time positions connected these two realms, aiding me in financial management and gaining insights into the UK’s market, particularly concerning marketing and customer experience. My initial and most cherished role was as a MORA Content Creator with Imperial’s central marketing team. Being compensated to develop content for a premier university felt surreal and positively influenced my year.

Assisting the team and generating content viewed by over 700,000 individuals across Imperial’s social media platforms made being part of the MORA team a fantasy come true. Through this position, I encountered opportunities I never envisioned, such as interviewing prominent personalities like Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty. This would not have occurred had I not embraced that initial chance. The MORA team fosters warmth, encouragement, and creative exploration. Keep in mind, most employers prioritize reliability, initiative, and friendliness over mere experience.
**Balancing work and study**
Managing work alongside classes necessitates careful planning. I opted for shifts when my class schedule permitted. Your degree remains paramount, but a thoughtfully chosen part-time job can enhance your education. My marketing coursework felt increasingly relevant when linked to actual jobs.

Throughout my Master’s program, I explored an array of jobs including waiter, event coordinator, barista, and bartender. Each position imparted unique lessons.
