Maximize Your Initial Week at Imperial
Your first week is vital for your student journey. Connect with flatmates, classmates, and future companions. Take part in Welcome Week to discover over 350 clubs and societies. Even if you’re introverted, challenge yourself to take part. I formed my closest friendships during campus tours and society gatherings. This week lays the groundwork for your university experience.
Be Smart About Traveling in London
At first, I was unfamiliar with the Tube or buses and ended up walking nine kilometers to explore. It was unforgettable yet chaotic. Obtain your Student Oyster card for reduced Tube and bus fares. Walking is still delightful for uncovering hidden treasures in the city.
Discover Your Preferred Spots
London can be emotionally intense. Identify a comfort zone, such as a park, cafe, bookstore, or riverside seat, to unwind and recharge. My comfort locations include a local park and the O2, where I relax each week.
Discover the City
Get acquainted with the neighborhoods surrounding your campus and residence. Find your nearest supermarket, pharmacy, parks, and preferred dining spots. Explore iconic landmarks, free museums, and relish spontaneous walks around the city. Some of your finest memories will come from moments of getting slightly lost.
