Upon your arrival, prioritize the following:
- Funds transfers – Utilize applications like Wise or Revolut for economical international transfers.
- UK SIM card – Acquire one right away for data access and navigation.
- Bank account – Digital banks such as Monzo or Starling offer swift and student-friendly options.
- Student ID card – Vital for campus entry, library access, and discounts.
Significance of the First Week at Imperial

During my first week, I covered nine kilometers on foot in London. Prevent this by obtaining a Student Oyster card and the 18+ discount for more affordable travel. However, walking is an excellent way to uncover hidden treasures.
