I was in my last year of a BSc Business Analytics program and wished to pursue this field further without repeating material or confining myself too soon. The flexible course design at Imperial, featuring a variety of module options, captivated me. The modules provided insights into areas such as logistics, supply chain analytics, and leadership in analytics, which resonated with my interests and aspirations.
Throughout my undergraduate studies, my goal was to become a business intelligence analyst but I wasn’t focused on a particular sector. Attending Imperial and participating in diverse modules illuminated what suited me best, steering me toward FMCG analytics. This process of exploration was enlightening and equally important as acquiring technical skills.

I dedicated a considerable amount of time to my personal statement, contemplating my career path, motivations for selecting Imperial, and the connections between my past experiences and my goals.
Compiling all my activities during my undergraduate studies, including academics and extracurricular endeavors, proved beneficial. I linked specific experiences to each inquiry instead of relying on generalized statements. Being authentic and expressive is vital, but avoid being excessively detailed. My method involved noting down experiences, drafting a statement, and refining it. Having a trusted individual review your statement can offer a new viewpoint.

It’s crucial to discuss with referees before including them in your application for well-informed references. Imperial usually provides referees with a confidential link to submit their recommendations, so verify referee requirements and ensure they use a professional email address.
Allow extra time for referees to respond, as waiting until the last minute can create unnecessary stress.
Interviews for Postgraduate Programs
My interviews felt like a chance to showcase my thought processes rather than catch me off guard. The format was a recorded video featuring pre-recorded questions, which allowed limited opportunities to pause or rethink responses. Avoid over-preparing, as it may result in answers sounding unnatural. Knowing your experiences well and explicating them clearly promotes a more genuine interaction.
Practicing by verbally articulating answers facilitates a conversational tone. Stay updated on subjects related to the course for confident responses. My interview centered on themes and areas of learning within the course. Tackle interviews with clarity, confidence, and a genuine comprehension of your motivations and goals.
